Synthesis System for Grey Volume Textures Using Statistical Features

Abstract—Several systems have utilized three orthogonal slices for neighborhood matching to synthesize volume textures. Further improvements are required to extract more reliable texture features. In this paper, we propose a volume texture synthesis system using grey-level texture features. In pre-process, we extract grey-level texture features. Next, for similarity set construction and 3D-candidates generation, we find the three pixels most similar to each pixel and pre-compute a set of 3D-candidates for each pixel of exemplars to build the relationship between the three exemplars. In synthesis process, we apply the synthesis process to synthesize volume textures. The proposed system can synthesize desired results for a wide range of grey textures.
