Newcomers’ General Positive Perceptions towards Managers, Coworkers, and Organization: An Application in Hotels

Abstract—The purpose of this study was to determine the level of hotel new employees’ general positive perceptions towards managers, coworkers, and organization, and to investigate the impact of newcomers’ positive perceptions towards managers and coworkers on the perceptions towards the organization. Purposive sampling method was used, and new employees (n=115) of a hotel chain in Turkey, participated in the study. For analyzing the data gathered via survey, mean, standard deviation, frequencies, and analysis of correlation and regression were used. Consequently, results indicated that the level of perceptions towards managers, coworkers, and organization of newcomers were high, and the newcomers’ positive perceptions towards managers and coworkers affected positively and significantly their positive perceptions towards the organization.
